Capital ID has become a leading MRM player within only five years

Zwolle, the Netherlands, 2 May 2007
Last Friday, Capital ID, specialist in the automation of marketing processes, celebrated its fifth anniversary. The fact that Capital ID has developed into a very successful and leading player in only a short time - even in such a difficult period for the IT industry when they started out in 2002 - was the occasion for a great party, organised in cooperation with the famous restaurant De Librije.

Capital ID was founded in 2002 by Dennis Steen, Marc van Ballegooijen and Andrey Prins. They were surprised by the fact that automation took place in different parts of organisations (for example in the areas HR, CRM and ERP) but that there was no attention for the optimisation of marketing processes. Whereas the marketing budget often is one of the largest budgets within an organisation. The three men founded Capital ID and developed Marketing Resource Management (MRM) software ID manager. Temporary employment organisation Randstad Holding became a launching international customer, after which the business accelerated. Five years later, Capital ID is market leader in the Netherlands and one of the largest MRM companies in Europe with an impressive list of national and international references, a fast growing workforce and a very healthy financial situation.

"The last five years have been a white knuckle ride", says commercial director Dennis Steen. "In 2002, a European MRM market practically did not exist, whereas MRM now is on every large organisation's agenda. And that is not surprising, as our customers save 25 to 30 percent on their marketing budgets. Often this money is spent on extra marketing activities, so that the organisation can be positioned even better."

According to Steen, the MRM market is an emerging market. Between now and a few years the most important players will be determined. He has no doubt that Capital ID will be one of them. "Think big, that is one of our success factors. Since the beginning we have had the ambition to become international market leader. The last five years showed that, with the right vision and strategy, everything is possible. Therefore we will aim at further accomplishing this dream with strong confidence."
